Traditional Fish and Chips

Traditional Fish and Chips Whitakers Shipley

Todays photo is not one of my best, dull dismal day and my lunch waiting... That said it is a subject close to my heart traditional fish and chips and inexpensive too.
I had so often passed this shop, driving swifly past, these days I sometimes stop and pick up lunch of delicious fish and chips.

Unusually these days Whitakers just off Canal Road, Shipley use beef dripping in the fryer and start with whole potatoes rather than frozen bought in chips. They use haddock and for £2 you get the real deal fish and chips.

  1. dripping and proper potatoes - that is why they taste so good and why the best chippies are all found up north.

  3. Where would we be without the chippy. Not fires they are chips. Not a dull image at all.

  4. The important question needs to be asked...

Condiment? Vinegar? Tomato Sauce? HP Sauce? Chutney? Mayonnaise? Gravy? Curry? Mustard?

The world needs to know! ;)

  5. I thought I'd seen everything but "corned beef cake" is a new menu item to me.

It's all too much. I'm officially homesick.
