Fellow Passenger On Train Into Leeds

Mika Samoyed Leeds train station

I saw this beautiful dog on the train into Leeds city station and chatted to the owner. He is called Mika and yes he is a samoyed as I thought and being 16 months old is still easily distracted. I asked his owner if I could take his photograph after we arrived into Leeds station. Being proud of her pet she agreed and his portrait can be seen above.

As you can see in the photo above his owner had a treat for him in an effort to keep him pointing in my direction. I am very pleased to have met Mika who has a very nice nature.

Oddly when I mentioned this to my good friend Bridget in St Paul, MN she was very surprised that dogs were allowed on trains here in the UK. Apparently in her home state this is not the case. I should point out that Bridget is the proud owner of an Australian cattle dog puppy called Angus.

  1. I loved this photo of the dog. I like dogs but am going through a separation state at the moment. It hurt and still does. Anyway, we have had dogs all our married life (53 years) and I have had them all my life (73 years) and really think they are special. I don't think dogs would be allowed on trains or planes unless they were seeing-eye dogs or medical help dogs in any state in the US. I know none are allowed in Ohio where I live.

  2. Awww....he is so cute! When I was growing up we had a dog that looked just like this one. Her name was Cleo!

  3. He is a handsome chap. Looks like he enjoyed his train ride :)

  4. Like you, I find people very amenable to having their dog's photograph taken. This is a lovely Samoyed.

  5. You have made me so happy with your photo today! More please!

Thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Enjoy the weekend and come back tomorrow!

  6. No dogs on trains! I'd rather them than some people. I'm sorry I'm a sucker for a cute dog, well any dog image.

  7. Precious! I wish the U.S. allowed dogs in more public places. *sigh*

Thanks so much for visiting my Leeds in Yorkshire photography blog
