
The church in the photograph above is the original old St Thomas a Becket Church in Heptonstall, near Hebden Bridge in Yorkshire. My friend John makes a small cameo in this photo, pretty sure he never noticed.
It was founded around 1260, being altered and added to over several centuries until damaged in a storm in 1847 (it is now a shell). A new church was built, St Thomas the Apostle in the same churchyard which is quite unusual, I have never come across this before.
The American poet and writer Sylvia Plath is buried in the churchyard here in Heptonstall.
