Scottish Piper at Wedding in Leeds City Centre

Scottish Piper Wedding Leeds City Centre

A short while after the Leeds Tianenmen Protest on 30 May 2009 I featured in yesterdays post, I heard the unmistakable sound of the bagpipes. This is not something I hear every day here in West Yorkshire, then I saw this Scottish piper at the head of a column of people. It appeared to be a wedding party, bride and groom and lots of men and women in their best suits and new frocks.

This photograph was taken just outside Leeds central library on the Headrow in Leeds city centre. The piper was like the pied piper of Hameln, but I think he did not really know where he was leading, because as you can see in this photo the bride and groom took off across the road in a different direction!!

I have never been a wedding photographer here in Leeds in the heart of Yorkshire or indeed anywhere, but if this happy couple should ever chance across this post I wish them both every happiness and much joy together.
