Sphere - The Calls, Leeds City Centre

Sphere Ball Calls Leeds

Whenever I walk down to the Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds or Brewery Wharf I pass this public work of art on The Calls in Leeds city centre. I have no idea what it is called or who created this large round ball or sphere standing on a small pedestal with a stream of water running over it.

You can see another night time photograph of Leeds city centre taken not far from this picture of the view across Centenary Bridge towards Brewery Wharf from The Calls.

  1. It certainly looks rather fetching in the night light - I was wondering what it was when I saw it last year but it seems info is scarce.

  2. This wasn't intended to be a sculpture.. and neither was it meant to be anything to be admired. It was a water piece chosen to make the unrenewed side of leeds look a little nicer. Cant tell you who designed it, but my friend works for the company that installed it.
