Andrew Balmforth - Jousting, Royal Armouries Museum at Leeds

Andrew Balmforth Leeds ArmouriesPicture of Andrew Balmforth as a Knight Leeds Royal Armouries.

This photograph shows Knight Andrew Balmforth waving to the crowd during the Queen's Golden Jubilee International Joust held at the Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds a few weeks back.

I have featured Andrew on my blog before mostly because he is the only knight I know to talk to and he is happy to be photographed at work....  Andrew is also a nice guy.

I was lucky to be able to attend the Queen's Golden Jubilee International Joust as a guest of the Royal Armouries here in Leeds and I will be posting more pictures of the jousting over the next few days here on my Leeds in Yorkshire daily photo.

If you live anywhere within travelling distance of the tiltyard at the Royal Armouries Museum here in Leeds I would recommend attending a joust.

  1. Such a luck. I wish I could be there too.

  2. A Joust would be a fun thing to watch. So would the costumes. Visions of Robin Hood and his merry men running around with ancient weaponry come to mind.
Hope the Sheriff of Nottingham loses:-)
    Cheers.
