Friendly Street, Thornton, Yorkshire

Friendly Street Thornton

I was walking through the village of Thornton here in Yorkshire towards the ruined Bell Chapel that was once the church of Patrick Bronte when I saw the name of this small street.

I have no idea why it was called Friendly Street or even it it really is, there was no one around to ask. But I could not resist a quick photo of Friendly Street in Thornton.

  1. Ha, that's a good name. You will have to find out why it is called that.

  5. Hi!!
Well, I live on this street (that's my gold punto) and I can tell you - it may be a small street but it really is friendly. And they are very strange, old little houses. I'm in the corner cottage and the house is set on three floors, with the kitchen on the 'ground/basement' floor and the kitchen is actually a different house number to the rest of the house! Funny eh? Also, the doors in the house are very small - I'm okay cos I'm only 5foot2' but anyone taller has to bend down.
Love it, love it love it!!
