Old Broadcasting House - Leeds

Old BBC Building LeedsPicture of Old Broadcasting House former home of the BBC in Leeds.

The building in the above photograph is the former home of the BBC in Leeds, Old Broadcasting House as it is now known.

The BBC had it home in Leeds here on Woodhouse Lane, Leeds until
2004 when they moved to a new broadcasting centre in St Peter's Square.

Today the old Broadcasting House is part of the Leeds Met (Leeds Metropolitan University), Broadcasting Place, home to the Faculty of Arts & Society which opened in the summer 2009.

Anyone who lives or works in Leeds will most likely know this already but Leeds Met has more students than any other University in Britain except the OU, with 41,215 students. Leeds Met has grown in size a lot since I was a student in the days when it was Leeds Polytechnic.

BBC Yorkshire, home to the studios of television and radio for the English region of Yorkshire on the BBC is now in St Peters Square, Leeds.
