Lion In Winter - Redux

Lion Leeds Town Hall Snow

This stone lion outside the Town Hall in the city of Leeds is one of four that are at the top of the steps outside the main entrance.

Although they are now showing their age with some weathering I think they are quite regal and I can see why the city fathers thought that they would add something to this large civic building. As can be seen from the photograph on this afternoon the recent heavy snowfall is still here.

The building with the cross in the background is the Oxford Place Methodist Church next to the Town Hall.

  1. Looking still regal but a little forlorn.

  2. The handsome Lion doesn't seem to be bothered by the snow?

  3. Looks a bit different with the snow.

  4. The snow doesn't seem to be bothering him at all!

Thanks so much for visiting my Leeds in Yorkshire photography blog
and for your much appreciated comments. If you leave a question relating to today's photograph or commentary, I'll do my best to give an answer, so do come back later. Thanks.
