Picture of the river Aire at LeedsI had not been down the the Royal Armouries Museum here in Leeds in quite a while but I was this last week invited back but more of that tomorrow.
As I walked back towards the city centre I deliberately took a different path crossing the river Aire over the pedestrian bridge from Knights Way. This was the view looking back towards the Armouries with the glass tower in the middle of the picture. The far bank across the river is deceptive because at this point it is a small island (Fearns Island) with another stretch of water between it and the Armouries museum.

These 'alternate' views are great. Have started trying to vary my routes, to get that different perspective. How nice that Leeds is so walker-friendly (it's rarer in the States, we're a bit too car-obsessed).
ReplyDeleteNice angle, the addition of colour in the foreground really adds to the scene too.
ReplyDeleteA familiar site from an unfamiliar angle. Nice shot.
ReplyDeleteMaybe that it's an island explains why there's such a contrast between the rough and ready grassy area and the new buildings.
ReplyDeleteVery nice photo! I like the bit of color in the foreground, as well. The water is beautiful too!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog today. I used to live in Hull for a bit. I was an American transplanted there for a few months. I love Yorkshire and the area!
