Picture of the Henry Moore Institute in Leeds
The above picture shows the Henry Moore Institute here on The Headrow in Leeds city centre.
I like the Henry Moore and visit it occasionally, it being very handily placed next door to Leeds city art gallery and just along from the central library.
The Henry Moore Institute has an exhibition which I caught a few days back after I took this photo, Sarah Lucas: Ordinary Things but that I have just noticed finished today. All I can and will say about Sarah's work is that it reminds me of Tracy Emin and in my book that is not a complement.
Leeds like many cities has several art galleries and later the same day I visited one of perhaps the lesser known ones, the Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery in the Parkinson building at the University of Leeds. I will post about the current exhibition at the Universities art gallery tomorrow. in the above picture just beyond the man on the right can just be seen the gold post boxes in honour of Olympic champion boxer Nicola Adams.

The people and the shadows add so much to this capture. I am like you...I live to go to art museums. My favorite is in Edinburgh...the rooms with all of those huge painting going from floor to ceiling. It is magnificent. Cannot wait to see your upcoming posts. By the way, I have found a wonderful series of TV programs on the great museums of the world and it is absolutely fascinating. genie
ReplyDeleteVery good picture, the brilliantly blue sky in the back, the pavement shiny with water, the facade of the building - I love it!
ReplyDeleteInteresting looking building and judging by the pavement, it looks like you just escaped a downpour too?!
