Picture of Nice Street sign in Harehills, Leeds.
Walking through Harehills in North Leeds yesterday afternoon where I had visited Harehills cemetery I spotted this street name sign on a side road.
Many years back when I first came to Leeds as a student I lived for a year or so in Harehills but had never visited the cemetery, being closer back then to Potternewton.

Nice it is!
ReplyDeleteI wonder whether it really is supposed to be nice as in nice, or Nice as in Nice, France...
ReplyDeleteWouldn't this be a great address?
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be a nice postcard to stick on one's wall?
About knowing the names of plants - do you know iSpot? It's an Open University initiative. Related to the BBC's Saving Species programme too - really worth joining. http://www.ispot.org.uk/
ReplyDeleteI immediately started wondering what the street looked like - great capture and wonderful that you can associate specific places in Leeds with a rich treasure trove of memories. (That's something nice about having lived or known a place for a longer while).
ReplyDeleteI like the picture! Lucy's right, it would make a good post card.
ReplyDeleteFabulous.
