Pears

Pears Leeds

These little yellow pears are lying all around this metal bench near the Royal Armouries museum.

The pears are quite small rather like a crab apple type of pear. Because the development down at Clarence dock is rather sterile there is not much wildlife around.

  1. If they are edible - brings new meaning to 'picnic bench'.

  2. What an interesting photograph. I see you have got a bit of 'stainless' steel there in Leeds. We seem to have benches, railing, etc. popping up everywhere in Coventry all in stainless steel. Looks nice.

  4. Lovely contrast of colours - grey and yellow together are one of my favourite combinations.
It seems a shame to let this abundance go to waste; if these are edible, I'd collect them and turn them into jam, wine, pies and so on.

  5. I also love the contrast between the tiny, round bright pears and the great grey bench. (I too wondered if you can eat them or turn them into jam?) It's a lovely picture.

  6. What an interesting composition - a really pleasing photo!! As you say, the area around the armouries is very sterile. Such a shame more nature hasn't been built into the area - with all the redevelopment, it's such a wasted opportunity.
